Parable: The Hidden Treasure and the Pearl.

Matthew 13:44-46
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it."

This parable to me was a bit confusing. I read it like 14 times and was like, "WHAAAA?"
Lol, but now I understand it. Well, this is what I got out of it...

First, it's not saying that you or anyone else can buy their way into heaven.
Not financially, not by good deeds, there is just no way anyone can do that. (Romans 4:4-5 & Galatians 2:16) Jesus ALREADY paid that price by suffering on the cross. Thankfully. It's a free gift through faith. NOW, in Zechariah 14:5,9 (Old Testament), it says that when God's kingdom comes, its supreme value will be obvious to EVERYONE. But, we're still in the "mystery" phase of heaven, therefore only some see its true value now...through faith. That's just my opinion.

What now? We, as Christians, need to view heaven for what its worth...now. We need to have the faith of the mustard seed (Matthew 13:31-32) to see heaven as our destination, our home. We need to realize that this world is just a resting place. IT DOESN'T END HERE! Heaven is home to those who realize its worth through the faith of the unseen. We MUST admit our moral failure as human sinners and humble ourselves before God and invite Him in to our hearts...forever. Those who do this are the ones who see the precious treasure or pearl. Your valuation of the gospel is determined by your own pride or humility.

God bless you and have a marvelous day!! :) Peace out.
